A professional in decision-making — with heart in the right place
I have worked both in the Finnish Parliament and in the European Parliament, and I have taken on demanding positions of trust since I was young. I am someone who shoulders responsibility, knows how to make an impact, and gets things done.
I’m a mother of two preschool-age children, and in every decision I make I want to keep in mind that we should leave society in better shape for the next generations.

Children and young people
When children are born and families do well, Finland does well. We need child-friendly decision-making and investment in young people’s well-being. In the end this benefits every age group, and it is a critically important investment in the future.

Skills and education
Education and learning have always been the foundation of Finland’s success. We must turn Finns’ level of competence back to growth and offer the best education in the world — from early childhood education to a doctoral degree — so that everyone has the chance to reach their full potential.

Work and entrepreneurship
Finland needs more jobs, and they are created by improving the conditions for entrepreneurship. The Nordic welfare state can only be sustained through a high employment rate. Finland must be ready to meet the AI transformation and the other challenges and opportunities of this new era.

The blue-green transition
Let’s make Finland a clean-energy powerhouse and use the market mechanism to fight climate change. The sustainable use of natural resources, care for the environment, and the good treatment of animals are the hallmarks of a civilised society.
